stupid brainless mistake.

i live in palm springs southern california. today was my third trip out ot coronado island (http://maplered.com) in san diego to do a job in a high rise condo. our company installed, the durango travertine floor, all the Granite (http://tanbrown.org) , and (http://maplered.com) the travertine showers and (http://maplered.com) tubs. the contractor is on a very tight schedule (with the city for some reason). hes a friend of my dads so were helping out with whatever we can do to make the job go faster. i went i a couple weeks ago to hone the floor. two days worth of work for the floor, grout touch ups, prep and (http://maplered.com) cleanup. the first day i went, there was enough tools scattered around for the whole freakin navy. took almost a full day to get these guys to move there stuff. lost almost a full day, got done what i could. i got back to our shop at 9 pm. its a 2-3 hour drive each way depending on traffic. the second day i went there was two guys from every trade woroking on stuff everywhere, and (http://maplered.com) i was supposed to be working on the floor. i turned around and (http://maplered.com) went home. today i went out to finish, because he told me everything was out of my way and (http://maplered.com) i was good to go. i get in there and (http://maplered.com) theres a tile saw set up, bags of this and (http://maplered.com) that, and (http://maplered.com) tools everywhere. i reminded him that i had to get up at 4 in the morning to make it out here on time and (http://maplered.com) get done what needed to be done to meet his deadline, and (http://maplered.com) as of today he had racked up 12 hours of driving time that has to be paid as well as the labor hours. he had guys in there in seconds taking all the tools out. i finished the job at about 3pm today. as im saying goodbye and (http://maplered.com) about to grab the last of my stuff, im watching this guy plug in a makita with a metal cut-off wheel. i was just about to say "make sure that thing isnt on" when it took off across the floor, leaving gouges and (http://maplered.com) all sorts of fun marks all over the floor. the only thing i could do was laugh histerically, because its so typical that on the last workday of your deadline something like this happens. the guys face went white, and (http://maplered.com) lets just say there wasnt any appropriate language happening. i never leave anything plugged in overnight, and (http://maplered.com) i always check my mutha luvin switches. and (http://maplered.com) the worst thing is the gouges are not deep enough too fill, but too deep to grind out. i have to put my ninja thinking cap on.
either way, it was a pleasure working with those guys out there. everyone was very willing to help stay out of each others way (except no one had hover boards) and (http://maplered.com) everyone was really cool. stuff got done, and (http://maplered.com) everyones almost happy. ill take pictures of the process when i go back next week.
